Terms of service
The rules for using this site and what you may do with the calculators and the text around them.
Using lifecalculator.space means accepting the terms below. They form the agreement between you and Life Calculator, the publisher of the site. Nothing in them is negotiable and nothing in them is buried, so please read them once.
Scope
This is a publisher of free calculators and of written explanations of the mathematics inside them. That is the whole of what it is. It is no kind of lender, broker, bank, insurer, tax preparer, financial adviser, engineering consultancy, medical or nutritional practice or law firm; we hold no registration or license in any of those fields, in any country, and we claim none. Reading these pages or using these tools does not make you a client of ours and puts us in no advisory, professional or fiduciary position toward you. The disclaimer forms part of this agreement and should be read with it.
What a result actually is
Behind every calculator sits a model, and every model leaves things out deliberately; each page states what its own model ignores. A figure on the screen is therefore an educational estimate and nothing stronger. Read it as a quote, an offer, a pre-approval, a professional opinion, a diagnosis, a guarantee or a forecast and you have misread it. Judging whether the model on a page fits your circumstances, and whether the numbers you fed it were the right numbers, is your job rather than the tool's.
We do not give advice
Everything published here is written for a general readership. It knows nothing of your goals, your obligations, your tax position, your jurisdiction or your health, and it is not a recommendation to borrow, buy, sell, invest, eat, train or do anything else in particular. Where a decision carries real consequences, take it to somebody qualified who can look at your actual situation.
Currency of the material
Accuracy is taken seriously here: every calculator is checked against a separate implementation of the formula printed on its page. Care is not the same as infallibility. Rates move, statutory limits are revised, conventions shift, and code can hold defects that testing failed to catch. We warrant nothing about any page or any computed figure being complete, current or correct, and we may alter or withdraw anything at any time without notice. If something looks wrong, tell us -- the corrections policy explains how.
Rights in the material
Text, layout, design, source code, calculators and graphics on this site belong to Life Calculator or are used with permission, and copyright applies to them.
Freely permitted: using any calculator for whatever purpose you like, private or commercial; printing pages; and quoting a short passage for review, comment, teaching or reporting, provided you say where it came from and link to it.
Not permitted without written consent: reproducing our pages at length; lifting a calculator or its accompanying explanation into another website, application or publication; feeding this material into the training, fine-tuning or retrieval grounding of a commercial machine learning system or generative service; harvesting the site in bulk by automated means; and passing our work off as somebody else's.
To be clear about what is not claimed: the underlying mathematics is public property. An amortization formula, a body mass index ratio, a compound growth expression -- these belong to nobody, and certainly not to us. What is ours is the particular way we have implemented, presented and explained them.
Conduct
Do not use this site to break the law, to reach any system or data you are not entitled to, to disrupt how the site runs, to introduce hostile code, to hammer the infrastructure with automated requests, or to suggest a connection with us that does not exist.
Other people's material
Links point outward often, usually at government agencies and official publications, so that claims can be checked at source. Those destinations are not ours: we do not run them, cannot vouch for what they will say tomorrow, and answer for neither their content, their availability nor their handling of data. Advertising is likewise not ours. Advertising networks decide which advertisements to place, we do not, and an advertisement appearing beside our text carries no endorsement, no recommendation and no verification of the advertiser or of anything it asserts. Whatever passes between you and an advertiser is a matter between the two of you.
Allocation of risk
Supplied as it stands. The site and everything on it come to you on an "as is" and "as available" footing. Every warranty capable of being disclaimed is disclaimed, express or implied, among them the implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, of merchantability, of accuracy and of non-infringement. Continuous availability, freedom from interruption and freedom from error are not promised.
Limits on what we owe. So far as the law allows, we accept no liability for consequential, special, incidental, indirect, punitive or exemplary damages, nor for lost profit, lost savings, lost data, lost goodwill or lost opportunity, arising from your use of the site or your inability to use it -- and that includes any decision taken because of a figure a calculator produced, however the claim is framed, whether in contract, in tort, under statute or otherwise. Liability that cannot lawfully be shut out is not shut out, and since some jurisdictions restrict clauses of this kind, parts of this paragraph may not reach you.
Your side of it. If your misuse of the site, or your breach of these terms, causes a claim, loss, liability or cost to land on Life Calculator or on the people who contribute to it, you agree to cover it and to hold them harmless.
Amendments
These terms may be replaced by a new version posted on this page under a new date. Carrying on with the site afterwards is how you accept the replacement.
Law, and what happens if a clause fails
The governing law is that of the place where the publisher is established, and applying it will not deprive you of consumer protections that are mandatory where you live. Should a court find any single provision unenforceable, that provision drops out and the rest stands.
