This policy explains what data The Ledger ("we", "us") collects when you use this website, and how it is used.
1. Calculator data
All calculators on this site run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The numbers you enter (balances, incomes, rates) are never transmitted to our servers and are not stored after you leave the page.
2. Information we collect automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL) for security and performance purposes.
3. Cookies and advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its partners use cookies (including, where permitted, the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Users in the EEA/UK may be shown a consent message before personalized ads are served.
4. Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, countries). We do not build individual profiles and we do not sell personal data.
5. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address solely to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
6. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Contact us at editor@yourdomain.com to exercise them.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
